Karen English Named to 2008 Employee Benefit Power Broker Team
In Risk and Insurance Magazine’s June 2008 issue the top Employee Benefits Power Brokers were profiled. After 8 months of reviewing hundreds of nominated individuals, the Risk & Insurance magazine research team, chose Karen to be part of the Disability Power Broker team. The profile discusses Karen’s recent projects in the disability arena including the implementation of a total absence management program for a large employer and assisting firms in assessing the feasibility of funding disability and life coverages through their captive insurance companies. Karen routinely helps her clients design and implement disability, absence management and health management programs that reduce costs, improve productivity and increase employee satisfaction. She also authors industry leading surveys and research efforts of not only how employers are integrating their benefits programs but how vendors and service providers are able to respond to their needs. Karen has over fifteen years of experience in the
health and welfare and property/casualty arenas with an emphasis on product
development, risk financing, process improvement and program implementation.
She holds a BBA in Risk Management and Human Resources from the University
of Wisconsin, and MBA in Finance from the University of Minnesota. She
has also earned the CPCU and ARM designations and serves on the local
Disability Management Employer Coalition (DMEC) chapter board.
