Hank Greenberg Brings Keynote Message To Captive Insurance Council of DC

WASHINGTON, DC – Insurance executive Maurice R. (Hank) Greenberg will provide the keynote address at CIC-DC’s annual conference Nov. 10-11 at L’Enfant Plaza Hotel in Washington. His remarks will be titled, “A Veteran’s Perspective on the State of the Insurance Industry.”

Mr. Greenberg is expected to specifically address the state of captive insurance regulation and the participation in captive markets by his firm, C.V. Starr and Company.

He is chairman and CEO of C.V. Starr, having spent 48 years as an executive of the firm. During that time he also served as chairman and CEO of American International Group, Inc. (AIG) until he retired from that firm in 2005.

Mr. Greenberg has vast experience in global insurance markets, particularly in Asia. He is former chairman of the Asia Society; founding chairman of the U.S.-Philippine Business Community and vice chairman of the U.S.-ASEAN Business Council. He is honorary vice chairman and director of the Council on Foreign Relations; former chairman and current member of the U.S.-Korea Business Council; vice chairman of the Board of Directors and member of the Executive Committee of the National Committee on United States-China Relations; a member of the U.S.-China Business Council and a member of The Business Council.

Mr. Greenberg served on the Board of Directors of the New York Stock Exchange, the President’s Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations, and the Business Roundtable. He is past chairman, deputy chairman and director of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
