Specialty Risk Services Names Alternative Markets Leadership Contact:
Hartford, CT - Specialty Risk Services (SRS), a leader in national property-casualty third party administration for workers' compensation and liability claims, has appointed two individuals to spearhead the company’s alternative markets initiative. Vickie Betancourt has been named Vice President—Alternative Market Sales, and James Beeckman has been named Director of Business Development—Alternative Markets. As SRS expands into new markets and distribution channels, they will lead the company’s new business growth in the alternative market space. “We want to recognize the importance of alternative markets, and this will lay the foundation for us to provide quality service and commitment in this marketplace,” said Michael A. Cirillo, Senior Vice President—Sales and Marketing, about the hiring. “With Vickie and James as dedicated resources, we will be able to provide SRS’ quality, value, and innovation to meet a tremendous need for better TPA solutions in alternative markets.” Betancourt will report to Cirillo and will be based in Phoenix, Arizona. She will be responsible for all field sales staff and activities as well as broker and carrier relationship development in the alternative markets space. She is currently pursuing an MBA in Marketing from the University of Phoenix, and received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Arizona. She comes to SRS after an 18-year career with Zurich where she held a variety of positions, most recently, as AVP Sales Southwest Region where she was responsible for commercial vehicle program sales. Beeckman will be based in Chesterfield, Michigan.
He will report to Betancourt and is responsible for new sales in the alternative
market space for SRS. In this role he will manage new business as well
as carrier, consultants and broker relationships in the eastern half of
the United States. He graduated from Laurence Technology University with
a Bachelor of Science, and has since gained a diverse professional background.
Previous to this role, Beeckman has worked as a broker with AJ Gallagher
as well as ran his own consulting company, TPA Sales with Alternative
