Leane Rafalko, CFE, AFI

Leane Rafalko currently holds the position of chief captive analyst for the North Carolina Insurance Department, Captive Insurance Companies Division. During her 17-year tenure at the North Carolina Insurance Department, she has held positions of staff examiner progressing to examination manager. Ms. Rafalko furthered advanced to senior captive insurance specialist before attaining her present position. Ms. Rafalko directly assists the senior deputy commissioner in the activities related to licensing and regulation of North Carolina domestic captive insurance companies. She also supports the senior deputy commissioner in marketing and promoting the North Carolina captive insurance program and the State of North Carolina as a domicile of choice for the formation of captive insurance companies. Ms. Rafalko earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Scranton. She obtained the Certified Financial Examiner professional designation in April 2010. She has been a member of the Society of Financial Examiners since 2007 and was elected to the Board of Governors in 2011. She is currently serving her second term, which continues into 2021.
