Mr. Gengarella joined Hylant in January 2024. He brings a wealth of experience to his role as senior group captive manager at Hylant. In this capacity, he is heavily involved in managing Haven Re, Hylant's in-house group captive program, and contributes to other group captive projects as needed. Mr. Gengarella is enthusiastic about captives as an alternative risk method for safety-focused and forward-thinking companies.
Mr. Gengarella has a background in account management with Assurance Agency (MMA Midwest) and Brown and Brown, and direct captive experience with Captive Resources.
He earned a bachelor's degree from Liberty University and master's degree from Western Governors University. He holds the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and the Associate in Insurance (AINS) designations, and he is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter candidate.
Based in Mystic, Connecticut, Mr. Gengarella was born and raised in New England. Outside of his professional pursuits, Mr. Gengarella is an active member of Second Baptist Church in Connecticut, where he contributes to men's ministries, grounds and building management, and various administrative duties. His commitment to community service is further evident through his previous role as a Teach for America Corp member, teaching math and science in low-income school districts. He is passionate about cooking, exercise, and spending time with his wife.
