Matt Mascia

Matt Mascia is the chief financial analyst for the North Carolina Department of Insurance and is responsible for the licensing and regulation of North Carolina captive insurance companies. Prior to joining the Department in 2016, Mr. Mascia worked in the traditional insurance industry for over 25 years, holding various officer positions, including vice president of financial reporting, senior vice president, and treasurer. Throughout his career, he was responsible for Statutory and GAAP accounting, internal control implementation, treasury oversight, and financial reporting. Mr. Mascia has supervised and led teams in these areas. Mr. Mascia graduated from St. Johns University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Long Island University with an MBA in Finance, and New York University with a Certificate in Financial Planning. He is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in the state of New York.
