AON Benfield Expands Reinsurance Team in Bermuda

Aon Benfield has announced the expansion and new management structure of its Bermuda team to optimize the increasing opportunities for clients and markets to deploy capital and expertise on the island.
As a key part of the initiative, Matthias Meyenhofer will join the firm on September 1, 2018, as CEO of Aon Benfield Bermuda. Mr. Meyenhofer joins from Guy Carpenter, where he was head of Europe, Middle East, and Africa global clients, having previously held the position of CEO at ACE Tempest Re Europe, as well as other senior positions within the industry.
In addition, Tony Fox, currently chairman of Aon Benfield Global Re Specialty Bermuda, will move up to the role of chairman of Aon Benfield Bermuda. While Jonathan Davies, a member of the Aon Benfield Global Re Specialty Executive in London, will relocate to the island as of April 1 to become head of Aon Benfield Global Re Specialty Bermuda.
Nick Frankland, UK CEO of Aon Benfield, who also oversees the firm's Bermuda operations, said, "Augmenting our resources in this way reflects Aon Benfield's commitment to Bermuda, and is in recognition of the widening experience, skillsets and capital now available on the island, and of our desire to better access Bermuda capabilities in support of our global model."
