APCIA Elects Alan Schnitzer Board Chair, Dino E. Robusto Chair-Elect

The American Property Casualty Insurance Association (APCIA) has elected Alan Schnitzer, chairman and CEO of The Travelers Companies, Inc., as its next board chair and Dino E. Robusto, chairman and CEO of CNA Financial Corporation, as chair-elect, effective January 1, 2023.

APCIA members approved the new board officers during the association's annual business meeting.

"We are pleased to welcome Alan as APCIA's Board chair," David A. Sampson, president and CEO of APCIA, said in a statement. "He has been a longtime and strong advocate for the industry and our customers, including throughout the difficult days of the pandemic. As part of the board's leadership team, Alan has provided invaluable guidance to APCIA and our members.

"Dino has demonstrated effective leadership as CEO of CNA Financial Corporation," Mr. Sampson continued. "He has been steadfastly committed to promoting and protecting the viability of private, competitive insurance markets for the benefit of policyholders for years to come."

Mr. Sampson noted the importance of the insurance industry in providing businesses and families confidence to invest and financial protection for communities as they recover and rebuild after disasters.

"With the expertise and guidance of our new officers, we will further our efforts to be there to help our customers protect the things that matter most to them," Mr. Sampson said.
