The Bermuda Captive Conference, celebrating its 20th anniversary, returns on September 9–10, 2024, at the newly renovated PIER 6 in Hamilton. This year's theme, "Navigating Captive Horizons," emphasizes Bermuda's dynamic and resilient captive sector.

Key highlights include discussions on future trends, regulatory updates, investment strategies, and the impact of Bermuda's corporate income tax (CIT). Jennifer Masters, senior vice president and Bermuda captive leader at Brown & Brown, will moderate a panel on CIT featuring Crystal Pittendrigh, tax director at PwC Bermuda; Sarah Robey, tax partner at KPMG in Bermuda; Michael Regan, tax consultant to Bermuda's Ministry of Finance; and Donay Viljoen, tax leader at Forvis Mazars in Bermuda.

The "Bermuda Shorts" series returns, with Rob Walling from Pinnacle Actuarial Resources, Dr. Raveem Ismail from Africa Specialty Risks, and Tom Johansmeyer from Price Forbes Re discussing parametric triggers in captive insurance strategies. The final session will feature macroeconomic experts James Downey of Barclays International, Peter Princi of Graystone Consulting (Morgan Stanley), and John Stoltzfus of Oppenheimer examining the global economic outlook and its impact on captive strategies.

Tom McMahon, executive vice president at Davies Captive Management and chair of the Bermuda Captive Conference, said, "This year's event promises to be our most engaging and insightful yet, offering unparalleled networking and thought leadership opportunities. Our theme, 'Navigating Captive Horizons,' reflects the dynamic and resilient nature of Bermuda's captive sector."

Mr. McMahon also announced that the conference would return to its traditional June schedule in 2025, hosted at the Hamilton Princess, aligning better with the industry's annual planning cycles.
