The Bermuda Captive Network recently held its annual Captive Education Summit at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute, drawing industry leaders and stakeholders for a series of discussions on key developments in the captive insurance sector.

The half-day event featured insights from the Bermuda Monetary Authority on on-site inspections and compliance measures, offering updates on regulatory changes affecting Bermuda's global captive market. Attendees also explored emerging investment trends and market opportunities, providing a deeper understanding of evolving financial landscapes.

A major topic of discussion was Bermuda's corporate income tax changes, with industry experts examining the potential impact on captives. Additionally, the event addressed developments in Bermuda's Personal Information Protection Act, reinforcing the need for strong data privacy practices within the sector.

Sessions also included actuarial and audit perspectives on captive operations, offering practical guidance on financial performance and compliance strategies.

"The 2025 Bermuda Education Summit once again set new standards with engaging, informative presentations on relevant industry topics. We congratulate the [organizers] and presenters on a job well done and look forward to the next event from the Bermuda Captive Network," said Sherman Taylor, head of capital markets in Bermuda at Ocorian.
