Call for Presentations Opens for 15th Annual Western Region Captive Insurance Conference

The Western Region Captive Insurance Conference (WRCIC) is now accepting proposals for presentations at its 15th annual conference, scheduled for May 18–21, 2025, at the Salt Lake Marriott Downtown at City Creek in Salt Lake City, Utah. With the theme "Spirit of the West: Pioneering the Future of Captives," the event aims to address the evolving landscape of the captive insurance industry. 

The WRCIC planning committee seeks innovative and thought-provoking sessions that reflect current challenges and opportunities in the industry as well as future considerations. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the role of captives in emerging risks, coverage affordability, increasing deductibles, and regulatory scrutiny. Specific session ideas may cover the following.

• Accounting and tax considerations compared to other program structures 
• IDR strategies and audit management 
• Cyber-related exposures 
• AI-related updates and opportunities 
• Climate change and wind/hail property exposures 
• Wind/hail property exposures 
• Governance and operations within captives 
• Reinsurance pools 

Submission Guidelines

Proposals should include a clear and descriptive title, a concise summary of up to 100 words, and a list of proposed panelists (no more than three speakers per session). Panels with diverse representation across gender, race, and/or ethnicity, as well as those that include at least one captive owner, will receive preference.

All submissions must be educational in nature and free of promotional content. The deadline for submissions is February 15, 2025.
