CICA Accepting Nominations for Board Positions, Annual Awards

The Captive Insurance Companies Association (CICA) is accepting nominations for its board of directors and its 2024 Distinguished Service Award and Outstanding Captive Award.

In addition to being willing to contribute their time and talent, nominees for CICA's board must meet the following requirements.

  • Be a current captive owner, manager, or service provider member
  • Attend two in-person meetings and two conference call meetings annually
  • Be willing to serve a 3-year term, with eligibility to serve one additional 3-year term

This year, CICA has two open board seats.

Individuals interested in applying to serve on CICA's board of directors or who would like to nominate someone else they feel is a strong candidate can do so by completing the nomination form on CICA's website. The deadline for nominations is December 31.

CICA is also welcoming nominations for its Distinguished Service Award and Outstanding Captive Award, to be presented during CICA's 2024 International Conference March 10–12 in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The Distinguished Service Award is presented annually, when appropriate, to a single individual or entity that has made a significant contribution to the captive insurance industry.

The Outstanding Captive Award is presented annually, when appropriate, to a captive insurance company or risk retention group that has shown creative uses for a captive, has been successful in managing the captive in terms of net results and service/usefulness to owners and insurers, has prevailed over difficult times or situations, and has gained acceptance, recognition, and a positive reputation among rating agencies, regulators, and colleagues in the captive industry.

Award recipients do not need to be CICA members, and current members of the CICA board of directors or their companies are not eligible for the awards. Self-nominations are welcome. Award nominations can be submitted using the award nominations form on the CICA website. The deadline for nominations is December 31.
