The Connecticut Captive Insurance Association (CTCIA), in partnership with the Connecticut Insurance Department (CID) and InsurTech Hartford, will host the 2025 Connecticut Captive Insurance Forum on April 28, 2025, at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford.

This forum offers attendees an opportunity to explore topics shaping the captive insurance landscape, including how mainstream runoff is making its way into captives, adding employee benefits to captives, considerations for direct and indirect tax, parametric solutions and technological innovations for climate resilience, and the globalization of risk. A dedicated session will also cover Connecticut's responses to increasing business challenges, and attendees will gain insights into how managing general agents and InsurTechs are employing captives to support program business.

The program will open with a keynote address by Andrew N. Mais, Connecticut insurance commissioner and NAIC president, followed by expert-led sessions featuring speakers such as Fenhua Liu, assistant deputy commissioner of captive insurance of the CID; John Bauer, senior vice president and general counsel at RiverStone; Michael Maglaras, principal executive officer of Michael Maglaras & Company; Dr. Marcus Shmalbach, CEO of RYSKEX Inc.; and Prabal Lakhanpal, national practice leader for alternate risk and captives at Alera Group and senior vice president of Spring Consulting Group

Early Bird registration rates are available through January 31. RSVP to the forum LinkedIn event to stay up-to-date on the event agenda, featured speakers, and attendee list.
