FERMA Expands Risk Manager Survey Outside of Europe
January 30, 2024
The Federation of European Risk Management Associations (FERMA) recently launched its risk manager survey in an expanded format that includes non-European risk associations from the United States, Latin America, Asia Pacific, and Africa.
For the first time, the FERMA survey will gather data from RIMS (the Risk Management Society), Alarys (Fundación Latinoamericana de Administracion de Riesgos), PARIMA (Pan-Asia Risk and Insurance Management Association), IRMSA (the Institute of Risk Management South Africa), and Club Francorisk (the French-speaking risk network).
The organization has been conducting the European Risk Manager Survey for over 2 decades and said this expanded survey is one of the most comprehensive studies of its kind.
Xavier Mutzig, vice president at FERMA and chair of the Risk Manager Survey 2024, said, "By expanding our scope and making it an international survey, we will be able to provide a more valuable insight into how the profession is evolving globally, pinpoint crucial factors affecting risk managers, compare the latest data on risk priorities, and identify new approaches and strategies."
This new international survey will provide a unique global perspective on critical aspects of the risk management function in the context of a highly complex and rapidly expanding risk environment, FERMA said in a statement.
The survey will focus on the following key areas: corporate risk strategy; Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG); compliance; risk transfer; sustainability; innovation; evolving risks such as climate and generative AI; and horizon scanning.
Typhaine Beaupérin, CEO, FERMA, added, "The survey provides the perfect platform for risk practitioners to compare their approach with their global peers across key aspects, including corporate strategy, emerging risks, ESG, and sustainability."
The survey is currently open to risk managers until the end of March. FERMA will publish the International Risk Manager survey report in September and findings will be made available during the FERMA Forum scheduled for October 20–22 in Madrid.
