Helio Adds Experienced Leaders to Captive Service Team

Helio has strengthened its bench with the addition of Jerry Messick and Jonathan Messick, principals of Unity Captive Solutions LLC. As of November 1, 2024, Unity Captive Solutions will operate exclusively under the Helio Risk, LLC, brand, focusing on specialized captive creation, alternative risk management, and fronting structures.

Jerry Messick, with over 40 years in insurance and alternative risk transfer, has held senior roles across national providers of alternative risk services since 1985. His expertise includes loss control, marketing, finance, corporate governance, and insurance operations. An advocate for legislative progress, Jerry has been instrumental in updating captive legislation in Oklahoma and holds positions on the boards of the Oklahoma Captive Insurance Association and the International Center for Captive Insurance Education (ICCIE), where he teaches captive insurance ethics.

Jonathan Messick, who brings over 5 years of experience in insurance and captive services, was previously an account manager for a global provider of commercial and alternative risk services. At Helio, he will continue developing his expertise as he pursues an associate in Captive Insurance Designation with ICCIE.
