ICCIE Scholarship Opportunities Include New Jeff Kehler Scholarship

The International Center for Captive Insurance Education (ICCIE) is offering several scholarship opportunities, including one recognizing Jeff Kehler.
In recognition of Mr. Kehler's leadership in the captive insurance industry and his strong belief in the highest educational standards for captive insurance professionals, Somers Risk Consulting is offering a complete scholarship to the Associate in Captive Insurance (ACI) designation program in his name: the Jeff Kehler Memorial Scholarship.
The scholarship will be based on interest and enthusiasm for the captive insurance industry. Preference will be given to candidates with financial needs.
Applicants should provide a cover letter, including an essay of one page or less, explaining why they are seeking the scholarship. They should also include a formal CV or bio. ICCIE will begin accepting completed applications for the scholarship after June 1, 2022, and the deadline for submitting a completed application is July 30, 2022. ICCIE will announce the Jeff Kehler Memorial Scholarship award winner at the South Carolina Captive Insurance Association annual conference in mid-September.

VCIA Distinguished Scholar Award
Through the VCIA Distinguished Scholar Award, ICCIE awards one full scholarship each year to a member of the Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA). A panel of three industry participants appointed by ICCIE will review applications and select the scholarship winner. The recipient will be able to attend all required courses free of charge.
Applicants must meet three qualifications.
- Be employed by a VCIA member company
- Provide two letters of reference citing their achievements in, or commitment to, the captive insurance profession
- Cite evidence of involvement in their community

The deadline for applying for this year's VCIA Distinguished Scholar Award is June 30, 2022.
ICCIE will announce the recipient of the award as part of the VCIA's Annual Conference in August.
Harry House Captive Insurance Scholarship
The Harry House Scholarship provides one full scholarship and one course scholarship yearly for course work leading to an Associate in Captive Insurance designation. The scholarship is sponsored by HAI Group of Cheshire, Connecticut.
The scholarships are reserved for minority students enrolled in an actuarial or risk management program at an accredited college or university. The recipients will be chosen based on scholastic excellence and good standing in the university community.
The full scholarship recipient will be permitted to attend all required courses free of charge as long as they pass each course. The modular scholarship recipient will be permitted to attend one of ICCIE's core courses free of charge.
