Lloyd's Names Carey Bond to Newly Created US Head of Claims Role

Lloyd's has appointed Carey Bond US head of claims. He assumes the newly created role as part of the Future at Lloyd's strategy and will collaborate with London brokers and underwriters on the design and delivery of claim solutions for policyholders in Lloyd's largest market.
Mr. Bond has more than 2 decades of claims management experience with a background in improving operational efficiency at several insurance companies. He joins Lloyd's from Canal Insurance Company, where he served as claims team leader.
Before joining Canal Insurance, Mr. Bond was director of claims at Access Corporate Services and served as corporate auto property damage manager at American Independent Companies. He also previously served as a regional director at Nationwide Insurance and as second vice president of claims at Travelers.
Mr. Bond is a graduate of the University of Tennessee and served in the US Army as a senior military advisor in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom and in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom, leaving the reserves with the rank of lieutenant colonel in 2011.
In his new role, Mr. Bond will report to Hank Watkins, regional director and president of Lloyd's Americas, and Phil Godwin, Lloyd's head of claims in London. Based in Greenville, South Carolina, he will be responsible for overseeing US claims processing across the Lloyd's market with a goal of improving outcomes and customer experience. His immediate priority will be to provide support for Lloyd's customers through the US hurricane season.
