Marsh Captive Solutions Appoints New Leadership

Effective January 1, 2019, Julie Boucher and Chris Varin will embark on newly created senior leadership positions within Marsh Captive Solutions.
Ms. Boucher will take on the newly created role of islands practice leader assuming direct leadership of Marsh's Bermuda, Cayman, and Barbados captive offices. Ms. Boucher will relocate to Bermuda from Vermont, were she currently serves as the Americas practice leader. She brings 30 years of captive experience to the position, having served in various roles of increasing responsibility within Marsh Captive Solutions.
Mr. Varin will assume oversight of Marsh's US captive management offices in the newly created role of US practice leader. Currently Vermont office head, Mr. Varin has 28 years of experience, having served in a variety of roles within Marsh Captive Solutions that have included responsibilities in operations, technology, and strategy. Mr. Varin will remain located in Burlington, Vermont.
Ms. Boucher and Mr. Varin will report to Ellen Charnley, president of Marsh Captive Solutions.
Ms. Charnley said, "Captive owners today are seeking world-class capabilities and advice to extract more value from their captives. By aligning Julie's and Chris' experience and captive expertise to these critical regions, we will be better positioned to provide enhanced services and resources to our clients."
According to its website, Marsh Captive Solutions has 417 experts that manage $44+ billion in premium for 1,250 captive insurers globally.
In September, Marsh & McLennan Companies Inc. announced that it will acquire Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc (JLT). JLT Insurance Management (USA) LLC has been revving up its captive expertise with a number of new hires in 2018 (see related articles below).
