Montana Captive Insurance Association Plans Annual Conference

The Montana Captive Insurance Association (MCIA) will hold its annual captive insurance company conference from August 30 to September 1, 2022, at The Lodge Hotel in Whitefish Lake, Montana.
Sessions at the conference include how to prepare for a captive's annual audit, using captives to fund weather-related risks, guidance to better enable captives to maintain the correct papers to document key operations and transactions, and a preview of how the 2023 Montana legislative session could focus on captive insurance-related developments.
A wide range of captive insurance experts will be speaking at the conference, including Tal Redpath, captive insurance examiner in the Montana Office of the Commissioner of Securities and Insurance; Les Boughner, chairman of Advantage Insurance; Joe Alberti, chief underwriting officer for Concert Insurance Group; Steve Matthews, captive insurance coordinator at the Montana Office of the Commissioner of Securities and Insurance; and Aimee Grmoljez, an attorney at Crowley Fleck PLLP.
