In a statement, the Nevada Captive Insurance Council (NCIC) said it has elected John Davidson, principal at Davidson Risk Consulting, and Sonya Bergquist, senior actuarial analyst at Taylor-Walker Consulting, as its newest board members.

Both work in the captive sector. Mr. Davidson has a background in risk management, underwriting, claims adjusting, and policy management. Ms. Bergquist, who joined Taylor-Walker in 2017, oversees feasibility, reserve, and funding studies, as well as provides actuarial services for regulatory clients.

Both Mr. Davidson and Ms. Bergquist are also active in the Captive Insurance Companies Association's NextGen and Amplify Women groups.

Board chair Bill Wetherall, chief operating officer at Pacific Capital Insurance Company, a sponsored cell Nevada captive, said, "We are so pleased to welcome John and Sonya to the board and look forward to their energy, knowledge, and service to Nevada and the captive industry."

NCIC members include captive owners, service providers, students, International Center for Captive Insurance Education graduates, regulators, and industry leaders, according to the statement.
