The Oklahoma Insurance Department (OID) was recently acknowledged as an International Center for Captive Insurance Education (ICCIE) trained organization. To qualify, the department ensures that at least 20 percent of its captive professionals hold the Associate in Captive Insurance (ACI) designation in good standing and that at least 30 percent of its captive professionals are ACIs, Certificate in Captive Insurance (CCI) holders, or enrolled in the ACI/CCI program.

"The Oklahoma Insurance Department is one of only five captive insurance domiciles in the world to be ICCIE trained," said Steve Kinion, director of the Oklahoma Insurance Department's Captive Insurance Division. "This designation reflects Oklahoma's professional regulatory environment."

In 2023, OID issued 20 new captive licenses, resulting in a net gain of 14 new captive insurers. For further information about OID's Captive Insurance Division, contact Mr. Kinion at (918) 704–8136 or via email at [email protected].
