RIMS Selects Gary LaBranche as New Chief Executive Officer

The Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) has named Gary LaBranche the Society's new chief executive officer. Mr. LaBranche will succeed Mary Roth, who announced her retirement late last year after 37 years with RIMS.
Mr. LaBranche will assume his new role June 1.
Since March 2017, Mr. LaBranche has served as president and CEO of Virginia-based NIRI: The Association for Investor Relations. NIRI's members represent 1,600 publicly traded companies with a combined market capitalization of $9 trillion.
Previously, Mr. LaBranche was CEO for the Association for Corporate Growth, the Association Forum of Chicagoland, and two other organizations. In addition, he was a senior executive at the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and the US Chamber of Commerce. At the Forum and ASAE, he was responsible for identifying, developing, and sharing best practices, models, and innovations in association management. At ASAE, he produced the 6,000-person ASAE Annual Meeting.
ASAE named Mr. LaBranche the Key Award winner for 2007, the highest award in the association management profession. He was also named the 2012 National Association Executive of the Year. The Association Forum named him the 2019 recipient of the Samuel B. Shapiro Award for Chief Executive Achievement.
Mr. LaBranche is a member of the US Chamber of Commerce's Association Committee of 100 and is past chairman of the Chamber's Institute of Organization Management. He was named an ASAE Fellow in 1995.
Mr. LaBranche is a graduate of Ohio State University and a resident of Evanston, Illinois.
