The South Carolina Captive Insurance Association (SCCIA) has made a significant contribution to the International Center for Captive Insurance Education (ICCIE) with a $20,000 gift to commemorate ICCIE's 20th anniversary. This funding will establish the SCCIA-ICCIE Scholarships, which will be available to individuals from SCCIA member companies pursuing educational credentials in captive insurance.

The scholarships will cover the Associate in Captive Insurance (ACI) or Certificate in Captive Insurance (CCI) programs offered by ICCIE. Recipients of the scholarships will be announced over the next 4 years, and details on the application process will be released soon.

SCCIA has collaborated with ICCIE through joint course offerings and incorporates ICCIE's expertise into its Annual Executive Educational Conference.

"This is absolutely outstanding news, and we couldn't be more excited,” said Mitch Cantor, ICCIE's executive director. "We have had a terrific relationship with SCCIA since the beginning, and this is a wonderful example of South Carolina's commitment to high standards in the captive industry."

The announcement follows the creation of the South Carolina Captive Insurance Endowment at the University of South Carolina's Darla Moore School of Business. This endowment will support scholarships and fellowships for students pursuing careers in captive insurance, further advancing South Carolina's leadership in the industry.

SCCIA president Warren Miller said, "Both of these initiatives show the SCCIA's commitment to strengthening and growing the captive industry in South Carolina to ensure its long-term success. It is the goal of the Association to invest in the future of our industry and continue making South Carolina the leading captive domicile."
