Tennessee Captive Group Plans 2-Day Online Captive Seminar
October 06, 2020
The Tennessee Captive Insurance Association (TCIA) will hold a 2-day online captive insurance seminar December 8–9 that will focus on a number of captive issues.
The seminar's first session will look at Tennessee as a captive insurance domicile. Speakers at that session will include Belinda Fortman, who earlier this year was named captive insurance section director in the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance; Joshua Clark, Tennessee's director of business development, whose role involves attracting more captives to the state; and Hodgen Mainda, commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance.
Other sessions will include a discussion of TCIA developments, where among others, TCIA President Kevin Doherty will speak. The online seminar will also include a discussion of legislative issues and a captive regulators' panel.
The registration fee for the seminar is $195 for TCIA members and $395 for nonmembers. Registration is available at the TCIA website.
With 207 captives, Tennessee is one of the largest domestic domiciles. So far this year, the state has licensed 13 new captive insurance companies.
