January 26, 2024
Registration for the 2024 annual Western Region Captive Insurance Conference (WRCIC) is now open. With the theme of "Captives Unleashed: More Valuable Than Ever," the conference will take place April 15–17 at The Tulsa Club, Curio Collection by Hilton, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Educational session topics include Cell Captives, Updates on Insurance Taxation, Claims Best Practices, Current IRS Captive Enforcement Actions, ESG Initiatives, a Regulator Roundup featuring representatives from several states, and an interactive Hot Topics session.
Chairwoman Renea Louie of Pro Group Captive Management Services said, "Last year the event sold out and we fully expect the same this year. We are very excited to have multiple Commissioners of Insurance in attendance and special sessions planned with them. [A] key feature for attendees is more than 25 regulators from across the nation will be attending, allowing the attendees direct access for meetings and collaboration all week."
The conference will also offer continuing education credits on many sessions provided by the International Center for Captive Insurance Education, as well as continuing legal education and continuing education units.
"We are honored to announce the featured keynote speaker for the upcoming conference. Oklahoma Commissioner Glen Mulready will share insights, adding a valuable perspective to the conference," said Heather McClure of Helio Risk.
Each state within the WRCIC (Utah, Missouri, Nevada, and Oklahoma) will conduct its own annual board and membership meetings on site. The staggered meeting times allow members and prospects of multiple state associations to attend each state meeting throughout the week.
The early bird rate is offered through February 29. More information is available at https://www.westerncaptiveconference.org/register. Also, to receive email updates on conference news, please visit https://www.westerncaptiveconference.org/contact.
