Bertrand Segui Joins Strategic Risk Solutions' Luxembourg Operations

Bertrand Segui has joined independent insurance manager Strategic Risk Solutions (SRS) as head of actuarial services for SRS's Luxembourg operations.
Mr. Segui began his new role with SRS on November 1. Reporting to Maxime Schons, managing director of European Finance & Compliance, Mr. Segui will assume responsibility for all actuarial matters of SRS clients domiciled in Luxembourg, including preparations of Solvency II reporting and compliance and interaction with regulators. He will also form part of a pan-European risk consulting team providing actuarial support to existing SRS clients.

Having a duly qualified actuary, well reputed within the industry and regulators, will bring strong added value to our Luxembourg activities," Mr. Schons said in a statement. "Bertrand will work closely with our actuaries in offices in Ireland, Switzerland, Malta, and Guernsey to further develop the firm's European actuarial capabilities and ongoing projects initiatives, IFRS 17 amongst others."
For the past 2 years, Mr. Segui was the chief actuarial officer at Risk and Reinsurance Solutions, where he led a team of actuaries whose responsibilities included Solvency II regulatory requirements, applications submitted to local regulators certifying technical reserves, and liaison with auditors. He was also the actuarial key function holder of many insurance and reinsurance captive insurance companies located in Luxembourg.
Before joining Risk and Reinsurance Solutions, Mr. Segui was an actuarial leader for major accounting firms leading actuarial teams with a particular focus on general insurance and reinsurance. In addition to working with clients in Luxembourg, he was involved in various projects in other countries as well.
Mr. Segui is a member of the Luxembourgish institute of actuaries and holds a master of actuarial science degree from IFSA Lyon and an MBA from ISC Paris.
